Many developments in the Jussie Smollett case as of today. It appears Smollett has now agreed to meet with police for another interview, as well as go in front of a grand jury.

To many this comes as a surprise as Smollett has, in large part, not been willing to meet with police to provide additional information in order to catch his alleged attackers.

At one point Mr. Smollett was willing to file complaints against two individuals the police told him that they found who were responsible for the altercation – that was until Smollett found out that they were not only his friends, but fellow Empire actors Ola and Abel Osundairo. Both brothers have told police that they were involved in assisting Smollett create a hoax.

It has also come to light that Smollett attempted to avoid a DUI arrest in 2007 by attempting to pass himself off as his 18 year-old brother.

Additionally, CBS Chicago has confirmed that famed attorney Mark Geragos will join Jussie Smollet’s current legal team for his defense. Geragos represented big names such as Michael Jackson and infamous Scott Peterson in the past.

Yet another twist in the story is that the previous Cook County State’s Attorney Anita Alvarez took a jab on Kim Foxx’s decision to recuse herself from the Smollett case.

A snip from Daily Mail:

Jussie Smollett lied to the police before by claiming he was his little brother Jake when he was pulled over for a DUI in 2007.

The actor pleaded no contest to giving false information in addition to driving under the influence and driving without a valid license, according to records obtained by NBC.

The incident took place in Los Angeles and he was 25 at the time. Jake, one of his three brothers, was 18.

Smollett said his name was Jake then reportedly signed it on a promise to appear in court.

He was charged with false impersonation, driving under the influence and driving without a license but later pleaded no contest to the reduced count of providing false information.

Meanwhile, social media continues to weigh in:
